Dr. Scarlett’s practice philosophy focuses on patient safety as well as education about plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has been listed as one of America’s Top Plastic Surgeons, was selected for the Patient’s Choice award, the American Institute of Plastic Surgery: Patient Satisfaction award, America’s Most Compassionate Doctors Award, and, most recently, Vital’s Compassionate Surgeon Award.
Dr. Scarlett speaks nationally on the subjects of breast reconstruction and oncoplastic surgery. He has written book chapters on breast reconstruction and integrative care, including a chapter for Surviving Cancer: Our Voices and Choices which has won multiple awards including the President’s Book Award.
In addition to publishing multiple papers in national and international journals, on topics varying from skin cancer to breast reconstruction to optimizing breast augmentation outcomes, he continues to be active in medical research. Dr. Scarlett teaches as an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery and is working on publishing his first book entitled Demanding Compassion.
Dr. Scarlett’s goal is to help women restore wholeness, both body and mind. In order to help breast cancer survivors move beyond their diagnosis to a place of thrivership, he offers creative workshops throughout the year, where women can use different modalities to express their healing journey.
